Dead Horse Point

This is a view of the sweeping S of the meandering Colorado River looking from Dead Horse Point State Park into the Island in the Sky portion of Canyonlands National Park, Utah. The harshness and almost barren appearance of the sandstone is observed in contrast with the life of the river. The exceptional detail that can be seen in the more than 35 miles of sharp focus is due to my use of the 4x5 view camera.
