| This image of a pair of nesting great blue heron was taken at the Venice
rookery, Venice, Florida. There is a blue egg, in the nest, which became
hidden as the pair continued to build the nest. In the image, the birds
are working together; the composition causes the viewer to look at the
male (to the right) around to his beak and to the female (to the left).
The nested pair is in contrast with the green vegetation with the red
berries. The tongue-in-cheek title comes from the fact that the birds are
herons. Leica has used this image in their promotional material. |
