| This late morning photo was taken looking across Bear Lake in Rocky
Mountain National Park, Colorado. The large looming rock in the foreground
is the main subject, as well as a frame, and leads the eye into the rest
of the photo. A heart shaped pool of water in the foreground contains
debris that was already in the water. The rock repeats the pattern of the
mountains in the background and the mountains identify the location. The
image contrasts the large rock with the pool of water, the blue of the
lake and the sky with the clouds, the sweep of dark green conifers from
right to left, and the mountains in the background. The flat-topped
mountain in the rear of the photo is Longs Peak. The Sierra Club has used this photo as part of a traveling
exhibit. |
