Sunrise Mesa Arch

This sunrise image, of Mesa Arch, was taken in the Island in the Sky section of Canyonlands National Park, Utah. The bare arrow shaped rock in the foreground acts as a leading line to "pull" the eye to the orange sunlit arch. The sunlight skims the underside of the arch for only about 10 minutes a day when conditions are right.
