Wapiti (Elk), Yellowstone National Park, 1991
| This spring image of a Wapiti (Elk) was photographed in a burned section
of Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The large fires in Yellowstone took
place in 1988. I had gone to the park, in 1991, to photograph plant
re-growth; this image was taken during that trip. The buck still in velvet
has been captured on film with its tongue sticking out. It is easy to see
how the coloration of these animals blend in well with their surroundings. |
